Description
Avocado is botanically a large berry containing a single large seed. It is the fruit of the plant, also called an avocado. The most common types of avocados are Bacon, Fuerte, Gwen, Hass, Pinkerton, Reed and Zutano, with many chefs having a particular preference for the Hass variety. Hass is the most common cultivar of avocado. It produces fruit year-round and accounts for 80% of cultivated avocados in the world.
